I'd leave it at that, but Amazon doesn't like short reviews. The blanket is practically a year old now, and still working perfectly. It's got a knob control that allows for infinite fine-tuning, which means you can set the blanket to *exactly* the excellent climatic characteristic for you. Also, the range of temperatures is nice and wide: from 'barely detectable' to 'surface of the sun,' so there's a setting for everyone. It washes well with minimal pilling, and remains colorfast and soft straight through multiple washings. I ordered Garnet, though the color is closer to a wine red than a enthralling garnet. The wiring in these new blankets is practically undetectable, especially compared with the old fashioned type that felt like sleeping under a chain link fence. Much more comfortable. Also, the make minimizes electricity use by heating in one direction only: down, towards you. Those clever blanket makers figured out that you don't also have to try to heat the entire room by heating both down And up. Up is a waste, unless you have a cat, who will be irritated if you buy a warming blanket that doesn't also warm her spot on the bed. **Update** Two days after writing this review, the blanket died. It lived 10 months. However: The business supplanted the blanket, no questions asked. They were very nice in email, and they naturally sent out a new one. Took a week to get the replacement via Ups, and I didn't have to send in the old one. Hopefully the one that broke was a fluke, and this one will last -- though I worry that the wires, which are wonderfully non-intrusive-feeling, make the item frail by nature. It was the wiring within the blanket itself that failed (I tested the old controller on the new blanket and it works; so it's the connections inside the blanket, most likely at the relationship point).
